Born in Tours in 1837, Lucien-Léopold Lobin was the son of Julien-Léopold. He learnt the art of painting in his father’s workshop and was taught by Hippolyte Flandrin. On his father’s death in 1864, he took over the management of the manufactory. He kept the support of the clergy and, for some twelve years, was the master glassmaker for every project in the diocese.
He made all the stained-glass windows of the new choir of the parish church of Saint-Pierre-des-Corps. He donated the central window, The Nativity, which depicts the late members of his family.
At the same time, Lucien-Léopold Lobin developed the business of secular stained-glass and funerary ornaments.
The booming manufactory employed up to a hundred people. He kept the same sales strategy as his father.
However, on his death in 1892, the manufactory faced a significant drop in turnover. It now employed only some sixty people.
